These bars were presented in 1979 under IS 1785:1979 as well as were offered in grades Fe 415 and Fe 450. In 1985, an improved quality of these bars termed as Fe 500 (IS 1786:1985) knocked the market. Since at that time, the Indian construction industry has merely enlarged its demand for countless types of TMT bars. Hence, in 2008, Fe 600 grade TMT bars which fulfilled IS 1786:2008 were put in the market.
